Birth of a New Mom – PhenomeMOM Jessica

“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.” – Osho

When Jessica found out that she was pregnant, her whole life changed. From finding a new job to discovering things she never knew she was capable of, the birth of her son was the birth to a new woman.

PhenomeMOMS are the mothers who go above and beyond for their families every day. They’re the moms with heart–the ones who want the best for their children, and are trying their hardest to give it to them. Each PhenomeMOM is a woman who is committed to doing her very best in her personal life and the lives of her family. I’m honored to bring you their stories–the ones that make you laugh, cry, and think about your own motherhood.

This week’s PhenomeMOM is Jessica, mom to 3 year-old Carter. Here’s what makes Jessica a PheneomeMOM.

When did you become a mom?

I became a mom officially on April 22nd, 2012. I knew I was going to be a mom in August of 2011.

How has motherhood changed you?

Motherhood has changed me in so many ways. Because of motherhood, I have acquired a motivation I never had before. I have realized that I have a great level of patience, and it has made me see and feel love in a way I never knew I could before.

What do you love most about being a mom?

What I love most about being a mom is the love factor. There’s no one in this world that shows they love and appreciate me more than Carter does. His hugs, his kisses, and his random outbursts of “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy! I love you.” The feeling is phenomenal. People often don’t tell or express their love for one another enough and that’s why I appreciate it so much.
