I Need A Break! I’m Heading to #BlogHer17

I’ve literally been running around like a crazy person all week.

It’s a busy time at the office, and The DJ graduates from pre-k this week. The Emcee’s stepping up ceremony was last week. It’s also time to pull out everyone’s summer clothes and pack the winter ones away. My hair is doing some crazy stuff and my curls aren’t cooperating, and I’ve generally been in a blah mood.

I need a getaway.

I’m heading to sunny Florida to hang with all of my blogger buddies at #BlogHer17!

BlogHer brings thousands of content creators together to learn, share, and grow. The weekend is full of workshops, parties, celebrity guests and influencers sharing their knowledge and experience.

My first time at BlogHer was in 2015, when the conference was practically in our backyard. I learned a lot, but didn’t get to spend a lot of time exploring the expo hall or sitting in on sessions.

This year, I’ll be making the most of the workshops, keynotes, and expo. With sessions from my faves like Dani of Ok Dani, #NoShameDay creator Bassey Ikpi, and Arsha Jones from Tees In the Trap, and keynotes by Awesomely Luvvie, Chelsea Clinton, Serena Williams, and Janet Mock, I’m looking forward to a great conference!

I’ll meet up with friends I’ve met online but never in person, rekindle with bloggers I met in 2015, and make new connections with a whole new set of blogger friends. I’m looking forward to bringing back lots of information that makes MyMommyVents a better blog for you!

And, I’ll kick back at the screening of the new movie, Girls Trip. Queen Latifah, Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Tiffany Haddish (she’s hilarious on The Carmichael Show!) star in this hilarious film about a group of friends traveling to New Orleans’ Essence Festival. I hear there’s also appearances by Larenz Tate and Luke Cage, I mean, Mike Colter.
