A quick Google search for “natural hair” brings up about 31,400,000 results (and at least 2 of those are from OK, Dani). A woman’s journey to embracing her natural hair can be a challenging one, but Type 4 Naturals makes the process a little easier.
On the Type 4 Naturals blog, Jo, Kat and Kory give their unique perspectives on having type 4 natural hair. The ladies share opinions on beauty, health and fitness, entrepreneurship and other topics to give a voice to curlistas with type 4 hair.

When did you become a mom?
2009. I always proclaimed that if I turned 39 and hadn’t given birth, I’d be the best aunt ever. At 29 years old, I gave birth to a 6 pds 8oz baby girl. She’s been the best blessing that I didn’t know I wanted.
How has motherhood changed you?
My selfishness is tested everyday. Instead of me, it’s we, us, our… I, along with her father, want to provide the best for her. I even returned to school to achieve my Masters Degree. She is my inspiration to do better. One day, I may actually get my driver’s license, so she can stop asking “why daddy always has to drive?”
What do you love most about being a mom?
I love being a mom–I didn’t know [how much I’d love] it until she came, and became a personality that I find so interesting!
