The Snapback Unites Us All – Your After Baby Body

Beyonce was named People’s Most Beautiful just three months after Blue Ivy made her debut. Heidi Klum walked the runway about fifteen minutes after her last baby was born. Kim Kardashian told us how she shed her baby weight after little North arrived. What do all of these women have in common? No, besides the whole millions of dollars thing.

The “Snapback” is the one thing all moms can relate to.

Whether six weeks or six months post partum, we’re all worried about our after baby body. But unlike Beyonce, Heidi, and Kim, we don’t have an army of nutritionists, personal trainers, nannies, or plastic surgeons at our disposal. For the everyday mom, the “snapback” can be a challenge. Finding time to focus on fitness while you’re busy focusing on feedings can be difficult. No glam squad comes to us to make sure we’re red carpet ready, no stylist armed with Spanx. It’s easy to compare ourselves to the women we see in magazines and wonder what we’re doing wrong. It’s not impossible to get back into shape after having a baby. I mean, round is a shape.

Seriously though, there are a ton of exercises, wraps, fajas, body shapers and programs you can try if you want to expedite the process of feeling great about your after baby body. I’ll spare you the “your body is amazing, you had a baby, don’t be so hard on yourself” speech. You already know you’re amazing. You know you’re a superhero for growing a human being. I’m sure you’ve heard it all before (and if you hadn’t, you just did). Deep down, even though we might be ashamed to admit it, we all want to be the hot mom. The Yummy Mummy. The Momshell. Yes, the miracle of childbirth is amazing, but sometimes you just want to be really, really, ridiculously good looking (and if you know what movie that’s from, we can sooo hang out). So what’s a mom to do when the red carpet is only in her living room, and the catwalk is really the sidewalk? Here are two moms who are working on their after baby body fitness in different ways. EJ Poole of is an It Works! distributor. After having two c-sections and a series of abdominal surgeries, EJ decided to try those crazy wraps she saw on a friend’s facebook page. Her personal success with the Ultimate Body Applicator turned her into a believer and an independent distributor. Learn more about EJ and these belly flattening wraps on her website.

Dani Faust Dani Faust is an independent Team Beach Body Coach. After her son was born, Dani decided she was going to be a Momshell. On her blog, she started Fitness Fridays and shared her personal fitness goals in order to motivate her readers–but she didn’t stop there. Shortly after welcoming her daughter, Dani became a Beach Body Coach and inspires groups to get it right, and get it tight. You can join one of Dani’s groups or purchase that new Insanity (and many other) workouts on her Beach Body site. These moms are helping others to achieve their  after baby body fitness goals.

When I had my son almost 4 years ago I felt like I snapped back so quickly!! But I just gave birth to my daughter 10 weeks ago and I still don’t feel back to normal yet. I gained about the same amount of weight each time but I think I just have less time to work out and am not eating as healthy this time around!! But our bodies really are amazing for growing human beings and I’m trying not to be too hard on myself. I’ll get back to normal eventually. These two ladies look like they are doing alot to encourage women! I’ve heard of It Works! but never tried any of their products.

Zoolander. Are we friends now? lol. No, but your post is on point. I’m on my third pregnancy now. The snapback was hard the first time because I was still eating like I was pregnant. The second one is the same story. Right before I became preggers with the one in the oven now, I was working it out, sweating it out, doing what I needed to do, and it took less than 3 months for my belly to pop out again. My mother calls it memory foam, it just remembers what happened before. I actually lost weight during the first 4 months but I am showing so much that people think I’m nearly done. I am expecting the snapback period to be awful. Maybe I’ll try “It Works” after I deliver. Wish me luck.

Oh, we’re definitely friends now, Tenisha. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I had just started a 30 day as program when I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd, and showed a lot quicker.

Thanks for stopping by! Now that we’re friends, I hope you’ll come back again.
