MyMommyVents is kicking off the month of October by celebrating \u201cPhenomeMoms.\u201d Each week, we\u2019ll profile a phenomenal mom who has faced tough challenges and managed to come out stronger. Every day, we see celebrity moms featured on magazine covers and websites for their fashion, weight loss, or personal struggles\u2013but we\u2019d like to celebrate the every day moms who are truly making a difference. We\u2019re recognizing the phenomenal moms who sacrifice to give their children what they need, the moms who go above and beyond to do the best for their kids. This month, we\u2019re honoring YOU.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s PhenomeMOM is Ashley Marshall-Seward, an Atlanta wife and mom of three beautiful children. I \u201cmet\u201d Ashley in a blogger\u2019s group, and instantly connected with her warm and selfless spirit. Not only does Ashley blog\u2013she sews, crochets, and home schools those three beautiful children, too. In addition to all of that, she\u2019s presenting at Blogalicious<\/a> in November!<\/p>\n

After a series of miscarriages, Ashley was overjoyed\u00a0to find out that she was due with her fourth child on Mother\u2019s Day\u2013but this pregnancy would soon leave her fighting for her life. Read on for this phenomenal mom\u2019s story.<\/p>\n

At eight weeks pregnant, Ashley was enjoying a fun trip to Philadelphia\u2019s Please Touch Museum<\/a> with her children while her husband worked at home in Atlanta.<\/a><\/p>\n

As the kids played and enjoyed themselves, she began feeling pain in her abdomen. She knew something was wrong, and headed back to her in laws\u2019 home to rest. What seemed to be a normal pregnancy would take a turn for the worse as she found herself in excruciating pain in the early hours of the morning. Unselfishly, Ashley was concerned about inconveniencing her family. She took some Tylenol and tried to sleep, but the agonizing pain simply wouldn\u2019t go away.<\/p>\n

After enduring the pain for as long as she could, her sister in law took her to the emergency room, just to make sure things were okay\u2013but they weren\u2019t. The pain was much more serious than anyone had imagined, and Ashley\u2019s husband would soon need to travel the 700 miles from Atlanta to Philadelphia to be by her side.<\/p>\n
