Getting Curious at Curiosity on Court

It was a dark and stormy night.

Well, I mean, it was a Sunday afternoon, but it sure felt like a dark and stormy night. DaddyVents was under the weather, and the 2Live Crew was turnt all the way up. I had to find something to do with them, and quick.

After checking Red Tri’s event calendar, I found it.

Curiosity on Court is a new play space in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn that celebrates the city.

Unlike other play spaces, there’s no monthly membership required–you and your crew can show up and sign in for a full day of play. That’s right, a full day. For $25 per child and $20 for each additional sibling, you can tackle the climbing wall, play in the subway area, grab lunch at Chipotle, and come back to play some more after naptime.

After taking off their shoes, kids can rearrange tubes on a magnetic ball wall (this was my favorite part!) topped by the city skyline, or head to the toddler area to read books and play.

The custom-designed climbing wall resembles a row of Brooklyn brownstones, ranging in difficulty from left to right.

There’s a kitchen area where kids can “bake,” wash dishes, and do laundry; a train table; and a subway station with a wooden Metrocard machine and a real speaker asking you to “stand clear of the closing doors.”

The main feature of Curiosity on Court is its multi-level climbing structure, with soft stairs, punching bags, and jumbo sized balls. There’s a street light in the center of it all, adding to the city theme. Kids can climb through the “Holland Tunnel” before going down the spiral slide.

Worn out moms and dads can take a break on the bench just outside the structure, and upload pics to Facebook with Curiosity on Court’s WiFi.

Each Thursday, join the Curiosity on Court staff for a free Rockasorri music class (with open play), or–and here’s the best part–drop the kids off for date night on Fridays and Saturdays from 6-9pm. (Reservations must be made and paid for in advance. Kids up to age 10 are welcome, with limited spots for kids under 2.)

Let your curiosity run wild! Check out Curiosity on Court for a fun day for the whole family.

Sounds like a cool place. From your observation would a six year old have fun here or its for toddlers?

I think a 6 year old would have fun, depending on what they like to do. The 5 and under set would enjoy a longer day of play. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Right?!? It’s perfect for parents who just need a little bit of a break to reconnect.
